Mo te tunga | About the role The Force Health Organisation team delivers health services to NZDF military personnel in New Zealand to maintain, improve and restore health in order to enhance Force effectiveness.
The Defence Health Centre in Linton is seeking a fully registered Practice Nurse to work within a multidisciplinary environment and provide comprehensive primary healthcare service to NZDF Military personnel.
You will work within a small and highly effective nursing team.
Your duties will include:
Assessment and triage of patients. Wound care. Health promotion. Health education and support for NZDF Medics in primary health care provision. The role is Monday to Friday, with a weekly commitment of 40 hours.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and Experience As an NZ Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate, you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in primary health care and triage decision making. Qualifications in women's health, cervical smear taking, sexual health, vaccination, diabetes and/or smoking cessation management will be advantageous.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will shine through, as will your personal time management skills and ability to work collaboratively with the immediate and wider health teams.
