Picton Medical Centre is an established general practice located in the picturesque Marlborough sounds. We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who is motivated, empathetic and patient focused, to join our team to continue to provide quality healthcare to our patient community.As Practice Nurse, you play a vital role in delivering equitable patient care, quality health education and safe clinical procedures. You will coordinate patient care including recalls and referrals, support the practice GP's, and assist with administrative duties.The role is part time, 24 hours, rostered, 3 days per week. The role requires flexibility in hours and at times you may need to be available to cover our other nurses' leave.To be successful in this role, you will need:A current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate and Indemnity coverTo be able to work in a team and on your own.To ensure services are provided using an equity lens.The motivation to continue learning and develop professionally.An understanding of Cultural Safety, Cultural Competence & Te Tiriti o WaitangiAn empathetic, supportive, and caring natureSkills that are desirable but not essential:Primary Health care experienceAn understanding of Primary Health care clinical programmesExperience in TriageCurrent smear taker certificateCurrent ACLS certificateExperience using MedTech EvolutionPicton Medical Centre believes that General Practice has a pivotal role in the health system, providing continuity and holistic health care for its patients.
