The successful candidate will also collaborate to contribute to the development of students' understanding of Te Ao Maori (the Maori worldview) and Te Tiriti (The Treaty of Waitangi), supporting culturally responsive teaching and learning initiatives.The successful candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, be a good problem solver, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori is advantageous, alongside a strong commitment to inclusivity and cultural competency. This is your chance to drive initiatives that enhance student retention, success, and engagement while promoting an inclusive and culturally responsive environment.Key Responsibilities:Academic Support - This role involves supporting Master's students by providing academic guidance, primarily in the initial stages of their programs, assisting with assessments, course navigation, and understanding key academic processes. It includes working with programme teams to identify and support at-risk students and collaborating with cultural advisors to integrate kaupapa Maori, Te Ao Maori, Moana Maori, and Te Tiriti principles into students' academic journeys.International Student Support - This role focuses on enhancing student engagement, transition, and wellbeing by organising orientation, workshops, and cultural exchange initiatives, with a special emphasis on supporting international students in adjusting to local culture and academic norms. It involves collaborating on compliance with the Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice.Pastoral Care - This role involves providing pastoral care, connecting students with internal and external support services, maintaining confidential records of interactions, and building a network of resources to offer comprehensive student support.Cultural and Inclusive Support - This role promotes an inclusive, culturally responsive environment by supporting diverse student needs and implementing the academyEX Disability Action Plan. It involves collaborating with the Moana Maori team and cultural leaders to deliver Maori and Pasifika experiences, facilitating students' sense of belonging and connection to AcademyEX and Aotearoa.Student Success Initiatives - This role supports student retention and success by coordinating with program teams, gathering feedback for continuous improvement, advocating for student needs, and managing the Student Advisory Group.About UsacademyEX isn't your typical education institute.
