The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research) and disciplines, leading a "NZ Inc" approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to work on a Riddet Institute Centre of Research Excellence funded project in the field of precision fermentation and alternative proteins.The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in Biotechnology, Bioprocess engineering, molecular biology, microbiology, food biotechnology or related disciplines with demonstrated expertise in fermentation/precision fermentation of microbes (fungi, yeast, microalgae or bacteria). Knowledge of metabolic engineering for microbial strain improvement is desirable. The candidate will also demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team in food biotechnology/sciences.Why Palmerston North?The salary will be reflective of experience within the Postdoctoral fellow range ($81,172 - $97,988).
