Nga korero mo te turanga - About the role This is a fully funded position for 2 years where you will assist with running eddy covariance towers over field trials of grazed pasture with applied rock, calculating carbon balances and nitrous oxide fluxes, producing papers, and supporting reporting responsibilities.
Funded by the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre, this post-doctoral project is titled 'Confirming CO2 capture by enhanced rock weathering at paddock scales under grazed pasture'.
Training will be provided, but there is an expectation of movement to independent work while being supported in a strong team.
This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) is based at the University of Waikato, Hamilton.
Salary will be in the range of $90,000 to $95,000 per year based on skills, knowledge, and experience brought to the position.

- Who are you?
You will have a strong interest in greenhouse gas measurement at hectare scales from agricultural systems and ideally a background in enhanced rock weathering.
You will be experienced in fieldwork (including having a current driver's license), have strong programming skills (preferably Matlab), excellent communication skills, and experience in eddy covariance research.
You will also be interested in contributing to undergraduate and graduate teaching opportunities.
Ideally, this role will commence in February 2024.
