Help shape the future of Tauranga's transport infrastructureDrive initiatives that make it safer and easier to get aroundWork with central and local government, tangata whenua and businesses to deliver our shared transport vision, the Transport System Plan (TSP) - a 30 year plan with over 80 projects on-the-goTe Turanga | About the role As the Portfolio Manager, Transport Infrastructure your primary responsibility will be to strategically lead the planning and delivery our capital transport projects to generate the best outcomes for our community.
The key deliverables, for this role is:
Work closely with our internal and external stakeholdersProvide an integrated approach to project delivery to maintain the required service to our customers, stakeholders and users of the transport networkBuild trust and confidence with our partners, our community and governanceTeam management of a large cross-functional teamProvide a high level of project assuranceBuild organizational systems, capability and capacity to meet future needsNga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Relevant degree in Engineering or similar field10+ years' experience inprogramme delivery for either; buildings, roads, waters, rails, portExposure to managing large cross functional teamsCommercially savvy, astute with contractor and stakeholder managementAbility to provide programme assuranceCapability to take a wide lens approach to problems to help overcome roadblocksBusiness managementExperienced in working with the community, being outward facing and converting a community understanding into successful planning and delivery.Tauranga City Council is one of Tauranga's largest employers, and we are always looking to attract great talent to join our driven, passionate, and community-focused team.
