The New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse (NZFVC) is the national centre for research and information on family, whanau and sexual violence in Aotearoa New Zealand.The programme is managed by UniServices and builds on the Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland research to bring positive impacts to the community around family, whanau and sexual violence.Job DescriptionProvide research-based policy expertiseNational role based in either Auckland or WellingtonMake a social impact on family and sexual violence in AotearoaA great opportunity has arisen at New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse for an experienced Policy Analyst to join their team, 0.8 – 1 FTE permanent. The role will build and maintain effective relationships with key research and policy professionals and within communities. Collaborate on website content, and develop evidence briefs and submissions on policy and legislation relative to family and sexual violence in Aotearoa.It is preferred that applicants will be experienced in collaborative and integrated partnerships across the family violence and sexual violence sectors among key stakeholders. As well as a strong family and/or sexual violence focus to their academic and research background, experience in working on equity, working with priority populations and knowledge of te reo me ona tikanga Maori is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development of evidence briefs and submissions on relevant policy and legislation.Monitor communications from key stakeholders to identify emerging research, issues, policy changes and relevant events.Develop news stories for NZFVC website.Produce and contribute to high quality documents: reports, presentations and evaluations.Ensure principles of Treaty of Waitangi are supported and implemented.Cultural competence applied to all work.QualificationsYour skills and experience:It is essential for you to hold:A post graduate degree in a relevant field or within a variety of academic disciplines.A demonstrated commitment to embedding the principles of Te Tiriti in your work.Experience in family and/or sexual violence research, policy and/or practice.The ability to critically analyse research and reports.Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately.Literature/database searching skills.The ability to travel nationally when required.Only applicants with the right to work in New Zealand will be considered.Additional InformationWhat we offer:Great benefits, including 5 weeks annual leave, up to 6.75% company superannuation scheme, eye-testing & glasses subsidies, access to discounts on health insurance & gym memberships, and long-service recognition.
