The role/Te mahi Are you a skilled plumber looking for a role with plenty of variety and people interaction?
As a Plumber within the Trades Services team at the University of Otago, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and residential plumbing systems. From Colleges to Cafes - Lecture Theatres to Laboratories, we have it all here!
You will execute the planning and delivery of high-quality Plumbing and Gas work on our Dunedin Campus, including general plumbing and gas fitting repairs, maintenance, alterations and installations.
Your skills and experience/ Ka pukeka me ka wheako Ideally you will be a registered and experienced Plumber/Gas Fitter, with practical and sound knowledge of the sector.
Certifying Plumbing and Gas is an advantage.
Successful candidates will also have:
• Experience in Plumbing and Gas Installation and maintenance.
• General knowledge of materials, equipment, and sub-trades relative to the building industry.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
You will be self-motivated, energetic, and organised with the ability to produce quality work within required timeframes.
This position requires a person who can work under minimum supervision, with good communication skills, who is result focussed and client centred, as much of the work involves dealing with a variety of people around the University.
