Are you a skilled plumber looking for a role with plenty of variety and people interaction?
As a Plumber within the Trades Services team at the University of Otago, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and residential plumbing systems. From Colleges to Cafes - Lecture Theatres to Laboratories, we have it all here!
You will execute the planning and delivery of high-quality Plumbing and Gas work on our Dunedin Campus, including general plumbing and gas fitting repairs, maintenance, alterations, and installations.
Ideally, you will be a registered and experienced Plumber/Gas Fitter, with practical and sound knowledge of the sector. Certifying Plumbing and Gas is an advantage.
Successful candidates will also have:
Experience in Plumbing and Gas Installation and maintenance.
General knowledge of materials, equipment, and sub-trades relative to the building industry.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
You will be self-motivated, energetic, and organised with the ability to produce quality work within required timeframes. This position requires a person who can work under minimum supervision, with good communication skills, who is result-focused and client-centered, as much of the work involves dealing with a variety of people around the University.
This is a full-time (40 hours week), permanent position. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this role.
Salary listed is the base rate. On-call and overtime rates are available.
