We're looking for a Playtime Coordinator to join our enthusiastic team based at the Queenstown Event Centre. The hours of work will look something like the below:
Monday 8:30 – 1:30
Tuesday 8:30 – 2:30
Wednesday 8:30 – 1:30
Thursday 8:30 – 1:30
Friday 8:30 – 12:30
What you'll be doing / He aha te mahi
You will be responsible for the effective operation of the Playtime child-minding facility at Queenstown Events Centre including adequate resourcing of volunteers and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. You will ensure the safety of the children through active supervision of activities and enforcement of policies and preventative measures that minimize or remove any hazards.
The role will involve:
Assisting the Customer Service Supervisor with recruitment, training and rostering of Playtime volunteers.
Overseeing daily operations, maintaining equipment and records, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Supervising children's activities, enforcing behavior rules, and maintaining a safe, hygienic, and enjoyable environment.
Fostering positive relationships with parents, children, staff, and the public while promoting a professional and customer-focused image for QLDC.
What you'll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka
You will have at least 2 years of experience in early childhood care or education and a proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a busy environment. Experience in the leisure industry is an added advantage.
To best succeed in this role, you'll have:
A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education is highly desirable
A minimum of National Certificate Level 3 or equivalent in a related field
Current First Aid certificate is necessary
