This is a 2-year fixed term contract that will coordinate a strategic approach to play across the district.
Responsibilities: Increase opportunities and access for whanau and their tamariki to play in a wide variety of ways, enabling optimal experiences through connection to place, past and present.
Ensure opportunities are equitable and inclusive, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Rotorua and relationships with hapori Maori, kaitiaki, hapu, and/or iwi.
Influence the systems that impact access and the ability for tamariki, rangatahi, and their whanau to enjoy playful moments regularly in their local communities and/or at home.
Systematically embed a play philosophy across council planning and decision making.
