Job Description About this opportunity The Plastics Technician – Injection is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.
This role supports the Shift Supervisor/Team Leader to deliver products on time, meeting quality specifications and manufacturing plan requirements.
The technician will provide technical and fitting services, optimize material and labor utilization, and must be available for shift and weekend work.
This is a Night Shift Role – starting at 11.45pm to 8.00am Monday to Friday.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Perform insert and die changes on equipment as needed.
Ensure product quality at startup and make necessary process adjustments.
Conduct routine maintenance and repair equipment/tooling breakdowns.
Optimize processes to meet cycle times and maintain quality.
Train production and temporary staff on production and safety requirements.
Undertake special projects and other tasks as directed.
Highlight and action tooling and machinery maintenance requests.
Ensure compliance with Pact Group's WHSE policies and relevant legislation.
Communicate effectively with fitting and technical staff.
To be successful in this role, you'll have: 3 years Previous Experience as a Plastics Technician – Injection / die setter.
Level 4 Plastics Technician Qualified is an advantage.
Knowledge of Plastic Injection machines, moulds, and related equipment.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with production teams and engineers.
Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Information Mt Wellington site This is a permanent full-time role. Days of work required: Monday to Friday: 40 hours per week – Night shift 11.45pm to 8am The base hourly rate for this role is between $30.00 to $40.00+ per hour – depending on experience.
