We are delighted to be partnering with this great client in search of a high performing Plant Manager, to oversee the operations of a well known manufacturing facility near Thames. About The Role
As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations at our timber mill, ensuring safety, productivity, and efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled workers, manage production targets, implement health and safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Some of your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Oversee daily operations of the plant, ensuring production schedules are met on time and within budget.
Lead and manage a team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Develop and implement operational strategies to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
Coordinate maintenance of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), production targets, and operational costs.
Drive continuous improvement projects, enhancing operational processes and product quality.
Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support manufacturing operations.
About You
This role would be well suited to an experienced Site Manager or Plant Manager, with experience in leading a high performing team in the manufacturing industry. Proven leadership experience is a must for this role, with the ability to motivate and develop your team.
You'll also need in depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, with experience implementing safety protocols in an industrial environment. Demonstrated experience managing production schedules, budgets, and operational targets is also necessary for this role.
A qualification in engineering, manufacturing or similar would be highly regarded for this role. Experience leading a manufacturing or production team within New Zealand is necessary for this role.
