About the role: Reporting through to our Marine Planner, we have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Administrator to join our Marine & Infrastructure team on a permanent full-time basis in our newly built, vibrant, and collaborative Head Office in beautiful Port Chalmers.
This is not your typical Monday to Friday position.
The Port operates 24/7, and for this role we are looking for someone to work 40 hours per week Wednesday through to Sunday.
What your day could look like: Your main area of responsibility will be to use electronic database systems and use effective forecasting methods to ensure our Marine floating plant and resources can deliver timely and effective services for our customers.To do this effectively you'll be someone who has an eye to the future and can forecast well, you'll be a natural at following rules and processes and be comfortable using systems to complete your work.
Ultimately the work you do will ensure that our people resources are allocated to deliver timely and effective services to our customers (shipping lines).
Over time you'll become one of our subject matter experts for roster issues and will be a key point of contact for our Marine supervisors and leaders for all their queries about our workforce planning system.
Like any system, we need to make sure ours stays current and keeps up to date with improvements – you'll have an opportunity to get involved in suggesting improvements, testing system changes, implementing those changes and supporting/training other systems users.
You will also provide general administrative support to our Marine Team on a day-to-day basis.
