Whether you are looking to relocate or perhaps buy your first home, Christchurch is the place to be.About the role | Ko te mahi neiYour work will be varied, challenging, and expose you to a wide and unique range of planning issues across the city and Banks Peninsula, including opportunities to grow expertise in specific areas. Additionally, you will provide:Expert planning advice to our customers, liaise with experts, and provide recommendations on notified and non-notified applications (including land use, subdivision, and notices of requirement).Manage complex applications, providing pre-app advice, attending hearings, and taking appeals to the Environment Court.Make robust decisions on resource consent applications and act as a mentor to less experienced planners, with coaching being a core component of the role.As we're a large Territorial Authority, you'll be part of a diverse team of peers who enjoy the work environment and opportunities at Christchurch City Council.About you | Ko Koe TeneiWe're looking for someone with:A degree in urban/regional planning, resource management or similar which is recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute (in terms of eligibility for full membership of the Institute).A comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the Resource Management Act, District Plans and the wider planning framework, and demonstrated experience in the resource consent process.Desire to develop your leadership skills.A positive customer-focused can-do attitude.What's in it for you?
