Through integration and collaboration, we are building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the roleWe are seeking a passionate and skilled Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Inpatient Physiotherapy Team at Nelson Hospital on a part-time basis. This role requires a proactive and flexible approach to meet the needs of a diverse patient population. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering physiotherapy services to patients with complex medical needs while being part of a supportive and professional team.As part of our team, you will work in a collaborative setting, sharing expertise and resources to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering individualised treatment programs. You will support a variety of inpatient cases, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and effective care, and you will have the chance to further your clinical expertise in acute and sub-acute care.About the Team/Service/LocationNelson Hospital offers a well-established and comprehensive physiotherapy service that supports inpatients and outpatients across various departments, including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation wards. Our physiotherapy team is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, person-centred care with a strong emphasis on inter-professional collaboration. You will have opportunities to access a wider network of allied health professionals within the Nelson Marlborough region and ongoing professional development, including regular in-service training and access to mentorship.About you:The successful candidate will:Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver tailored treatments.Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focused on improving patients' mobility, function, and quality of life.Educate patients and their families on managing symptoms, self-care techniques, and preventative practices.Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other physiotherapists, to ensure cohesive care.Maintain up-to-date records and provide accurate documentation for continuity of care.Skills and experienceNew Zealand Registration, with a current practising certificate.Demonstrated experience in acute care physiotherapy.Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth NZ is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
