You will have the opportunity to co-design a heart health recovery exercise programme for people who have recently experienced an acute cardiac event or who are recovering from cardiac surgery.
Educating people around lifestyle change and regaining confidence with exercise will be key aspects of this role.
We are looking to develop in-person education exercise sessions across the district, and you would work closely with the specialist nursing team to lead, develop and facilitate the day-to-day running of this programme.
Mo to matou ropu - About our team You will join a dedicated team of cardiac nurse specialists who are passionate about educating and empowering people to learn more about their heart health and take charge of their recovery.
We work alongside cardiology and cardiothoracics, and working closely with the MDT is a priority for our service.
You, as a physiotherapist, would be an extremely valued member of the small team.
We collaborate with the inpatient pharmacy, occupational therapist, and social work team as required to provide holistic care and our programme will have a focus on using allied health expertise.
Mou - About you If you are enthusiastic and motivated to be involved in the establishment of a new service that aligns with best practice for cardiac rehabilitation, this would be a fantastic opportunity for you!
You will need to be an innovative and autonomous practitioner who is interested in heart health and secondary prevention.
You do not need to consider yourself an expert in all things cardiology or cardiothoracic, but you must be eager to develop your knowledge.
