Philanthropy Manager

Details of the offer

About us
Child Cancer Foundation is a New Zealand charity that provides support to children and families on their cancer journey. We support them every step of the way, helping them overcome challenges and maintain control of their lives.
We focus on the whanau, not the cancer. No two families' experiences are the same, and neither is the nature of the support they need.

Our vision is 'To walk alongside and support all children and their families on their cancer journey and advance improvements to child cancer care' .
We are guided by our values that help us deliver our vision. Our values are:
Tautiaki | Trust
Each and every role plays an integral part in what we do.
About the Role
This is an exciting new role within our business which is going to allow us to grow our major giving, legacy, and estate administration programs - driving growth in high-net-worth donations and legacy giving.
Leading the major gift strategy to secure substantial donations from high-net-worth individuals and philanthropists is your area of expertise, and you thrive on the challenge of identifying new opportunities in this space.
You will oversee the legacy giving program, ensuring effective stewardship of existing legacy confirmers and identification of new legacy prospects while also managing the notified estate pipeline.
Being able to manage relationships with key external stakeholders such as donors, solicitors, and executors to support philanthropy efforts along with internal stakeholders who are necessary to develop cases for support to secure funding for key initiatives is second nature to you; you pride yourself on your ability to nurture a range of relationships.
Reporting to the Marketing & Fundraising Manager, you will also collaborate closely with the CEO along with the Foundation Patron, and the Fundraising Think Tank to identify and cultivate new donor prospects, create compelling cases for support, and secure major funding.
Having experience in the grants space would be advantageous as this role is responsible for managing the Grants Specialist – ensuring they are fully supported and successful in what they do.
This is a 2-year fixed term role which is part-time - 30 hours per week. We are open to this role being based in Auckland or Christchurch.
What we provide
Aside from working with a group of passionate people making a difference for families facing childhood cancer, we have flexible working hours and provide the option to work from home one day per week. You will enjoy a paid day off on your work anniversary and wellbeing is supported through OCP, our EAP provider. We will also provide all the tools to get the job done!
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in securing major gifts and cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals and legacy donors. You will have the ability to think strategically and focus on building long-term relationships. A results-driven approach will motivate you to ensure financial targets are met.
You will also ideally have:
Competence across the main Microsoft Office products
Highly organised and able to juggle multiple tasks at once while maintaining strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
If you are wanting a rewarding role where you can support a purpose-led organisation by leading the grants space all while working with belief, trust, and empathy to support tamariki with cancer and their whanau, then please apply!
Your application will include the following questions:
Which of the following Microsoft Office products are you experienced with?
How many years' experience do you have as a Philanthropy Manager?
Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
What's your expected annual base salary?
How much notice are you required to give your current employer?
Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?
