Job Title: Personal Assistant to the Director of Science Be the right hand of the Director Science and be part of an organization focused on positive environmental outcomes. This is a permanent full-time position based in Christchurch city centre. We are privileged to work with Nga Papatipu Runanga, stakeholders, and our wider community to protect Waitaha - our Canterbury region. As a Regional Council, we're responsible for environmental regulation and protection, community preparedness and response to hazards, and public transport. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Personal Assistant to be part of a diverse, high performing group supporting the Director of Science deliver great science for Canterbury. Our Science Group is responsible for delivering trusted monitoring and data on the Canterbury environment and providing high quality research and advice to support our planning and regulatory systems. The work is fascinating, challenging, varied and incredibly rewarding. You'll be known for your highly organised and proactive approach, your approachable and calm personality, and the ability to support a busy Director with a full agenda. Your keen eye for detail will be key as you work on and produce various types of detailed information. A juggler extraordinaire, you will be highly organised, acutely aware of deadlines and deliverables and adept at managing multiple priorities while remaining calm under pressure. You will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and have proven experience in diary and email management. Of course, a great sense of humour is a key requirement as our team collaborates and has fun as we work. You'll bring the following experience, skills and attributes: Considerable experience in a Personal Assistant role supporting Senior or Executive roles Experience with complex diary management The ability to organise, prepare and manage administrative support requirements Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships Confidence to draft correspondence and documentation in a timely and accurate manner A strong planning focus with the proven ability to multi-task under deadline pressure Ability to use and apply good judgement in confidential situations Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and information management systems Our values underpin everything we do.
