Responsibilities:
Cook are responsible in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food in a dining establishment. Their duties may include:
Craft and execute traditional Persian dishes with precision and creativity.
Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and uphold hygiene standards.
Contribute to menu development and occasional special events.
Examine goods to ensure they are of acceptable quality.
Regulate temperature of cooking and storage equipment.
Preparing, seasoning, and cooking Persian food in accordance to the recipe provided while adhering to the highest standard and quality.
Storing food in temperature controlled equipment as required.
Adhering strictly to guidelines provided in food safety.
Ensuring that kitchen is clean, tidy, and immaculate during and after each shift/service.
May have the opportunity to train other kitchen staff or apprentices.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook in a Persian or Middle Eastern cuisine restaurant.
Minimum 2 years commercial experience or a level 3 qualification.
In-depth knowledge of Persian culinary techniques, spices, and flavours.
Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff to maintain excellence.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Creative flair with a passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience.
The willingness to learn new methods and improve the current procedures will be highly desired.
The willingness to help in other sections of the kitchen if needed will be highly desired.
Other Requirements:
Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably within Persian cuisine.
Familiarity with butchering technique of various meat types is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with skewring technique is highly desired.
The experience to run the grill section and cooking the meats to the desired temperature is essential.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Days required and Hours of Work:
Tuesday – Sunday expected work days, minimum of 30 hours per week between 9 am to 10 pm. Rosters will be provided on a weekly basis. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and extra hours as required.
