This pivotal role will lead a team of four People & Culture Partners who provide critical support to our New Zealand stores, trade centres, distribution centre, and support office team members.
Reporting to the General Manager People Operations, based in Melbourne, Australia, you'll act as a strategic partner, providing proactive People & Culture leadership, solutions, and support that align with Bunnings' business objectives.
This role plays a key part in shaping and executing our P&C strategy across New Zealand, enabling us to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent for the future.
Your key responsibilities will include: Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with country General Manager and senior leaders to deliver on key People & Culture priorities and influence the development and execution of Bunnings' P&C strategy.Employee Relations Expertise: Provide leadership and guidance on employee relations matters, including collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and workplace policies, ensuring compliance with New Zealand employment laws.Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, and empower a high-performing People & Culture team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.Workforce Planning and Talent: Drive future workforce planning initiatives, oversee the talent planning process, and champion the development of our people to build the best team for the future.Change Leadership: Support organisational change, enabling teams to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Operational Excellence: Partner with leaders to ensure alignment on safety, culture, and people-focused outcomes that drive business success.Travel: Regular travel across New Zealand to connect with stakeholders and teams on the ground.What you'll bring: Proven Leadership: You're an experienced senior HR professional with a track record of leading and coaching high-performing HR teams in a large, complex organisation, ideally with multi-site operations.Employee Relations Mastery: Strong expertise in employee relations, including a thorough understanding of New Zealand employment laws, collective bargaining processes, and dispute resolution.Strategic Influence: Experience working with and influencing senior and executive stakeholders, driving impactful outcomes aligned with business goals.Retail or Multi-Site Industry Experience: HR experience in retail is a strong advantage, but we also value experience in other fast-paced, customer-focused, or multi-site organisations.Financial Acumen: Experience managing a P&L and aligning HR strategies with business performance metrics.Future-Focused Problem Solving: You're solutions-driven, safety-focused, and adept at navigating change and complexity.Team Builder: A passion for people and culture, with a commitment to fostering growth, engagement, and high performance in the teams you lead and support.You'll be part of a workplace where you'll feel like you belong.
