This role acts as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning P&C strategies with business objectives and providing guidance on all people-related matters. The role will lead the development and execution of the people plan to enable the business agenda, build leadership capability, execute the P&C Strategy and build outstanding P&C capability within the partnering teams.This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.Key role responsibilitiesServe as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.Proactively identify opportunities to create a high performing and engaged workforce.Bring a highly commercial and balanced view to P&C activity.Provide expert advice on P&C matters including workforce planning, talent management, organisational design and diversity and inclusion.Show deep curiosity for and understanding of business unit specific challenges and use this to inform and prioritise people related strategy and initiatives.Lead complex employee relations issues with commercial or reputational risk, whilst also coaching and supporting leaders and P&C team members to uplift ER capability.Build leadership capability across Summerset through coaching leaders and embedding Summerset's leadership framework.Analyse P&C metrics and data to identify trends, identifying opportunities to enhance employee engagement and improve business performance.Proactively build deep industry and P&C knowledge of trends and best practices, keeping strong external networks and bringing an outside in perspective.Partner with business leadership in selected key hiring processes.Support efficiency and effectiveness within P&C by providing insights and contributing to ideas to enhance systems and processes.About youA minimum of 10 years' experience in a P&C role, with a focus on strategic P&C business partnering.Deep experience in at least one P&C specialist discipline is preferred.Experience in leading, coaching and developing a small team.Deep understanding across all P&C functions.Proven ability to translate business strategy into people-focused initiatives.A strategic thinker who demonstrates strong business and commercial acumen.Strong knowledge of employment laws & regulations within NZ.Proven track record of building strong relationships with senior leaders.Significant experience in leading and managing change.Strong problem solving and analytical skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.Proven use of data driven insights and storytelling to inform people related strategy.Strong continuous improvement mindset and someone who thrives on making positive change within all aspects of P&C.What's in it for you?You will be working with an enthusiastic and caring team that is fun to be part of.
