This is a large and complex organisation who employ over 1400 staff and are one of the largest multi-utility contractors in New Zealand, servicing the needs of clients in transmission, distribution, generation and commercial sectors. They are a well-known brand, and you will be supporting blue and white-collar employees.
About the role
Reporting to the Group Manager, People and Capability Delivery. You will work with the Auckland Regional management teams to drive and deliver on people plans and strategies that create meaningful and excellent employee experiences. With one direct report, you will provide generalist people and capability support, leadership development, change management and operational excellence across the Auckland business. Collaborating with members of the People and Culture delivery team, you will support key initiatives across the company.
Duties
Provide high level support to your people in line with best practise HR.
Contribute and support collective bargaining process.
Support and develop people leaders in effective and fair ER processes.
Collaborate with the recruitment team to support attraction and onboarding of team members.
Develop and implement strategies to strengthen employment brand, and recognition as employer of choice.
Implement remuneration, benefits and retention strategies to ensure practices are competitive.
Develop and coach your direct report to ensure alignment with group strategy.
Work with leaders to implement strategic workforce and succession planning.
Skills and experience
You will be an experienced degree qualified HR practitioner who has worked in a complex and fast-moving business. You could be a People and Capability Manager now and are looking for your next challenge, or an experienced Business Partner who is looking to develop their leadership skills. You will be required to coach, develop and support your team and leaders, as well as deliver on strategic initiatives. Ideally you will have experience in:
Remuneration and Evaluation
Change Management
Collective bargaining
Complex ER
Implementation of succession planning
Knowledge of NZ employment law
