About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey's people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused.

About the role
We are looking for a Pensions Team Leader to assist the Pensions Administration Manager in all aspects of Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administration.

This will include leading a team within the administration function, being solely responsible for case management, checking of work, and having input on regulatory changes that affect the fund.

You will ensure the administration service is delivered to the agreed standards, which will involve identifying, managing, and monitoring process improvements to uphold a high-quality service to all LGPS members and stakeholders.

You will be expected to deputise for the Pensions Administration Manager when required.

The Haringey Pensions team is an award-winning administration team, recently winning the Pensions Administration Award at the 2024 LAPF Investment awards.

A team of 10 with a firm focus on providing an excellent service to our 27,000 members, we constantly strive for improvement within our function.

About you
You will need experience of LGPS administration, ideally at a supervisory level, as well as the ability to interpret complex pensions legislation. An understanding of pension administration systems is also important, as well as being able to identify process improvements and manage complex cases.

A good team player is essential, but also an excellent communicator. You will be required to work on your own initiative and respond to challenging and ad hoc situations, managing unexpected workloads and demands of your team.

Sound analytical skills are key when analysing data and performance reporting. It is important to possess organisational skills and the ability to manage work to strict deadlines. Nurturing and maintaining solid working relationships with third-party contractors and stakeholders is also key.

You should have experience of Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Attainment of industry standard qualifications is desirable, but support to attain such qualifications will be considered (PMI, CIPP or equivalent).

Working for Haringey
At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work. We recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities.

Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of up to 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme, and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture.

Please note: we reserve the right to end this advert before the noted deadline if we receive sufficient applications. If you wish to apply for this role, please ensure that you do so as soon as possible.

Additionally, we are aware that automated emails may be diverted to junk email folders. Please continue to check these through the application process. If you have any questions about the status of your application, please contact ******
