Our friendly Financial Services team are seeking a Payroll Specialist. Key responsibilities for this role include: Provide high quality, responsive payroll support to management and employees across Council entities and external agencies. Ensure payroll services are provided in a professional manner within agreed timeframes. Ensure all leave transactions and entitlements are correctly applied, analysed and all changes verified. Provide consistent, concise and accurate Payroll reports on a regular and ad hoc basis. Support and assist pay function while implementing a new integrated HRIS payroll system. Contribute to review, testing and implementation of new processes. What you will bring: Minimum of five years' experience as a Payroll practitioner, preferably within a medium to large organisation. An excellent understanding of employment legislation, including the Holidays Act 2003 and its complications. Solid experience using complex computer-based payroll systems. Strong planning and organisational skills. NCEA Level 3 pass in English, Mathematics and Computing or equivalent. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel, including experience with functions and the use of spreadsheets.
