About You:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer, to join our growing team, who excels at managing multiple client workloads, meeting deadlines, and collaboration. You will leverage your client-facing experience to coordinate and deliver payroll processes, report accurately, and ensure client communications and deliverables are handled efficiently.

Our clients are all within the Not-for-Profit sector. Understanding their stories and needs will allow you to provide a comprehensive payroll experience that eases their administrative burden. What You Will Do:

Payroll Processing: Deliver day-to-day payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Mentor and Train: Mentor and train junior payroll team members, ensuring high standards of performance and continued development.

Process Optimisation: Assist in building and refining payroll processes through effective documentation, systemisation and automation.

Client Communication: Handle complex payroll inquiries from clients and employees, providing accurate and timely responses.

Payroll Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.

Audits and Reconciliations: Conduct audits and reconciliations of payroll data.

Collaborate: Work with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Report Preparation: Prepare payroll reports for clients and management as required.

Ongoing Education: Keep up with current legal developments and trends, and disseminate relevant information to the organisation.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in multiple client-facing payroll role, ideally within the Not-for-Profit sector.

New Zealand & Australian payroll process and legislation knowledge is essential.

Qualified with a payroll diploma or similar.

Sound ability to interpret complex EBAs (AU), multiple Awards (AU) and the Holidays Act (NZ).

Proficiency in payroll systems such as Employment Hero, Tanda, and Xero.

Experience with PowerQuery, automation, and AI technologies is advantageous.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

High level of empathy and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Collaborative and independent work capability.

Well-organised with strong attention to detail and good time management.
