As part of Moana's People & Culture team, you will join a small, high-performing team, reporting to the Group People & Culture Manager.
As a seasoned payroll professional, you will have a commitment to excellence, an eye for detail, and an aptitude for continuous improvement.
You will have hands-on responsibility for the processing and management of the payroll function across a multi-site operation.
This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate payroll processes and providing outstanding service experiences to all stakeholders.
Key areas: Process weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely services for all employees (approx.
320 employees – combination of waged and salaried).
Collaborate with the Finance team on monthly payroll-related tasks.
Ensure compliance with legislation, particularly the Holidays Act 2003.
Develop payroll resources, policies, processes, and systems – ensure fit for purpose.
Build strong internal and external relationships to facilitate smooth payroll operations.
Responsible for internal communications and providing a high level of service to the business.
Responsible for auditing systems and analysis of payroll data, processes, and outputs.
Monthly and annual reporting.
No day is the same at Moana, so be prepared to be on the go, juggle multiple priorities, and collaborate with a wide variety of people.
As a doer, no job will be too small or big, and you will be comfortable working both autonomously and in a team.
Ko nga mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu te haere | What you'll need to be successful: You must have 3-5 years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally in a multi-site operation, and preferably within FMCG and manufacturing industries.
Knowledge and understanding of NZ Employment Legislation is essential.
Strong understanding of payroll systems and compliance requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Demonstrable experience in a senior end-to-end payroll position.
Intermediate or advanced ability to use Excel.
Excellent understanding of Microsoft 365, OneDrive, and Teams.
