We're on the hunt for a positive, pragmatic and 'can do' team player to join our team in the role of Payroll Administrator.
Reporting to our Payroll Supervisor, this permanent part time role is 32 hours per week - which could be worked across 4 or 5 days a week, working around school hours if needed.
You'd be based at our iconic manufacturing plant located in Papakura, South Auckland, but for the right person there is the option of basing yourself at our Wiri, South Auckland site (and there is the option to work from home a couple of days a week if you'd like).
Here at Griffin's Snacks, we're proud of our heritage and being New Zealand's largest snack food company, producing many iconic and much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin's, Huntley and Palmers, ETA and Nice & Natural.
We're looking for someone who is keen to be a part of our committed payroll team, taking ownership of relevant time system and payroll actions for our waged population at one of our manufacturing sites.
What would you be responsible for?
Ensuring all payroll related payments and processes are compliant with internal policies, agreements and legislative requirements.
Providing reports to wider business when required.
Ensuring all NZ payroll related payments and records are processed and stored, accurately and on time, in accordance with company policies, procedures and legislation (including new starter documentation, terminations, variations, insurance, superannuation, kiwisaver, bonus payments, union deductions, leave requests).
Ensuring payslips are accessible to all employees within a reasonable time.
Ensuring records meet audit standards and assist to carry out and meet audit requirements.
Identifying and implementing continuous improvements initiatives.
Remaining across details of current and proposed employment legislation across NZ.
Providing customer-focused service and advice in response to routine requests and queries.
Supporting the business with appropriate ad-hoc requests.
What you'll bring to the role?
Ideally you'll have been exposed to payroll, however if you don't but do tick the other boxes we'd love to hear from you!
Preferred experience working within an administration environment.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office products (in particular, Excel).
Genuine interest in developing skills and knowledge, in particular within employment-related legislation in NZ.
Strong relationship building skills both with internal and external stakeholders – you love to work with a range of people daily!
Can do' attitude, positivity, and a solutions-focused approach – you see road bumps as a challenge, not a disaster!
Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communications, with sound report writing skills (you can provide meaningful and accurate data).
Self-direction and motivation – you are proactive and use your initiative!
Innovative and process improvement mindset– you love a process and aren't afraid to speak up when you see a better way to do something.
