Here at Nelson Hospital, an important part of making this happen relies on always having an awesome Patient Support & Security team on site.
As a Patient Support and Security Worker, you will focus on working with staff to best meet the needs of patients and their whanau accessing our services.
As this is a casual position, there are no fixed/guaranteed hours of work. However, the more available you are, the more shifts you'll be offered.
The hourly rate ranges from $23.50 to $28.18 per hour, dependent upon relevant NZQA qualifications and experience. Penal rates apply to nights (25%) between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, weekends (50%) from midnight Friday/Saturday until midnight Sunday/Monday and public holidays (100%).
Who is an appropriate applicant? You will be the type of person who works in a rational and calm manner and who has the skills and experience to effectively de-escalate difficult situations and promote a safe and therapeutic environment.
You will be able to relate well to patients and their visitors and work with the clinical team while following directions.
Previous experience in security or a related industry is preferred. However, this is not essential as training will be provided.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying. Additionally, you will have:
