Pastry Chef/Assistant Baker

We're looking for a Pastry Chef or Baker to join the kitchen team at the Central Fire Station Bistro in Napier.
We are a busy restaurant that operates at a high standard.
You will work on the pastry section, as well as assisting our baker and covering their days off in our bakery kitchen.
Experience in similar style restaurants is preferable but we are willing to train the right person to our standards.
We Offer Good wage rate - hourly not salary
Consistent roster - closed public holidays
45 hours per week (minimum of 30 guaranteed)

Modern produce driven and regularly changing menu
Tasks Preparing all pastry items for our a la carte menu
Preparing sourdough bread, cabinet items, sandwiches and savories
Communicating with our Head Baker and FOH about any preparation issues
Cleaning and organizing the pastry section for service and after service
Ordering all products required for the pastry & bakery sections
Applicants should a minimum of 2 years experience as a pastry chef or baker
Have a hard-nosed work ethic
Have an eye for detail and a steady hand
Have the ability to work calmly during a busy service
Be punctual and polite
Have no problem asking questions or asking for help
Greet each of your colleagues when you arrive
