This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of participation growth in the Southland region. It will join our regional workforce, based locally in Invercargill, and lead the delivery of participation initiatives and provide administration support for Golf Southland. There is potential for this role to be part-time or full-time. What you will be doing: Reporting to the Participation Manager – South Island the participation coordinator will lead the implementation of our existing participation initiatives and programmes, and support the development of other initiatives to increase the number of people playing golf. This position requires an energetic and skilled individual who can lead others to achieve the outcomes of the role. Specifically, you will: Work in close partnership with golf clubs, golf facilities and coaching professionals to provide quality introduction and development programmes at schools, in communities, and in golf clubs that drive increased participation and club membership. Deliver regional participation initiatives with a focus on young people, women and girls and the casual player. Carry out administration services as required for Golf Southland in conjunction with the Golf New Zealand support office. Support the implementation of Golf New Zealand's range of participation programmes and initiatives across all clubs in the region. Support the effective connection between the Golf New Zealand Participation team, regional staff, Southland Golf representatives and golf facilities throughout the region. Support the enhancement of the Golf Southland website and other digital platforms. Leverage the staging of golf events in the Southland region for participation benefits. What you will bring: A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable – Coaching, Sport & Recreation, Physical Education. Ability to manage time well and stay on task while working independently. Ability to prioritise and multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Establishes and maintains effective relationships. Is energetic, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and considerate. A team player that adds value to the team environment. Is willing to continually learn and improve. Ability to provide innovative, constructive, and effective recommendations. Willing to be flexible with working days and hours.
