Part-Time Assistant Accountant

Job Title: Part-Time Assistant Accountant Location: Auckland Central, NZ Hours: 24 hours per week - we can be flexible on how these hours are done Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Assistant Accountant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Firm Accountant with a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Responsibilities: Manage creditors by processing invoices in Xero and handling monthly disbursements.
Collate payroll data, conduct initial checks, and reconcile leave balances.
Maintain and update Xero records.
Issue general invoices, including those for tenants, and address related queries.
Oversee trust account administration.
Assist in month-end reporting and reconciliations.
Provide support to the wider team as needed.
Team Contribution: Adhere to company policies and procedures, addressing any breaches promptly.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by seeking more efficient ways to complete tasks.
Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist colleagues with overflow duties when required.
Respond to staff queries regarding creditors and the iFirm system.
Serve as a backup for the Firm Accountant in key processes.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role.
Familiarity with accounts payable management systems.
