Position Palliative Care Registered Nurse Division HealthwiseJob Type PermanentLocation Auckland - North ShoreRef# KLA95312Posted 13 November 2024Close off 20 November 2024 Salary $85,000 to $99,000Make a difference in the lives of patients and their whanau within the community as an inpatient Palliative Care Nurse. As a Palliative Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing holistic care, support and management to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their whanau in the Hibiscus Coast community. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and your Team Leader to ensure the highest quality of care, symptom management, and comfort for patients during their end-of-life journey.The Role:0.5 - full time opportunityMonday to Sunday on rotating rostered shiftsProvide and develop comprehensive plans and nursing care to patients with advanced illnesses in accordance with palliative care principlesConduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needsAdminister medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring optimal pain and symptom managementEmotional support and counseling to patients and their familiesFacilitate communication and coordination of care between healthcare providers, patients, and familiesProvide education and guidance to patients and families on palliative care principles, end-of-life issues, and advance care planningSuccessful Candidate:Must be a Registered Nurse and part of the Nursing Council in NZ with a valid APCExperience in Palliative care or Oncology in a hospice or hospital settingCertification in palliative care nursing (preferred)Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamCompassion, empathy, and sensitivity to the needs of patients and whanau facing end-of-life challengesIf you are experienced and interested we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
