Auckland War Memorial Museum: Connecting through sharing stories of people, lands and seas
Tamaki Paenga Hira Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Tamaki Makaurau Auckland's identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections and the employees and volunteers who tell the Museum's stories. We are Tamaki Makaurau Auckland's home of commemoration, as well as the country's oldest research institution, and a major local and tourist destination.
The Pacific Advisory Group (PAG) is now open to receiving expressions of interest for four new members, one of which is a Youth (aged 18 - 25) position. The group meets bi-monthly in-person on site at Auckland Museum, and members are committed to attending at least 70% of these meetings.
To be successful in this role, you will:
be of Pacific descent and based in Auckland
have a good knowledge of and connection to Pacific communities
be actively involved with at least one Pacific community (e.g. knowledge holder, leader, liaison, orator etc.)
understand and support diverse Pacific cultures and communities
have experience with governance, or leadership, or advisory roles
understand the Museum's Teu Le Va framework and Matafatafa Aho plan
have solid skills or expertise in a particular field of work or study
