We are looking for a Senior Planner who is keen to apply their experience and expertise in a dynamic and diverse environment.
About the role You will join a close-knit team of planners in a district that provides an opportunity to develop your planning skills in unique and challenging areas.
With pockets of heritage, outstanding natural features and landscapes, new growth areas, coastal development, and all types of natural hazards.
As a Senior Planner, this role undertakes assessment of the more complex resource consent applications and related management of environmental planning.
You will provide mentoring to colleagues and support to the Development Planning Team Leader.
The role will also provide reports and recommendations to Council committees and provide advice to support Council's strategic, regulatory, and operations functions.
About you To be successful in this role you will have: Significant knowledge and practical application within the planning industry (5+ years).
A planning degree or similar, and membership of a professional association, or working towards it.
An understanding of key Local Government legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to build sound relationships and give advice.
Strong literacy and report writing skills, with high attention to detail.
Great organisational and prioritising skills, a drive to get the job done.
