Tenei turanga - About the Role: We have an opening for a Personal Assistant/Team Administrator to support our Employment Relations and Employment Standards Policy teams. These teams sit within MBIE's Workplace Relations and Safety Policy branch which is a busy regulatory policy branch covering employment relations and standards, international labour, health and safety and ACC. You may be a seasoned PA looking for your next challenge or somebody looking for experience working in a busy policy branch and the opportunities for development that provides. Regardless of your background, the key thing we're looking for is somebody who is organised, a self-starter and who can juggle multiple tasks at the same time. No two days are ever quite the same and you'll be exposed to really interesting work that impacts the lives of all New Zealanders. You'll work closely with talented and smart people across the branch and MBIE, as well as being part of a supportive administration team. About the Teams Employment Relations Policy There are currently nine people in the Employment Relations Policy team. The team looks after the Employment Relations Act and associated legislation, like the Equal Pay Act. The team is currently leading the work the Government has underway on the Coalition commitment to consider changes to simplify personal grievance provisions. Employment Standards Policy There are also currently nine people in the Employment Standards team, and they provide advice to the Government on minimum employment standards like parental leave and the minimum wage. One of the team's current big projects is the review of the Holidays Act. Can show that they can apply processes with judgement and common sense. Strong written and interpersonal communication and relationship management skills.
