With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Opportunity
Midcentral is looking for an experienced physiotherapist to work within the orthopaedic outpatient department as a first specialist assessor (FSA). The position is part time permanent (0.5FTE). As a FSA, you assess patients to determine if they are appropriate to progress for hip or knee replacement surgery.
Furthermore, you will provide self-management advice to those who are not clinically ready and refer patients to other providers if indicated. You must be willing to work towards performing FSA shoulder assessments too. You would be part of an intimate multidisciplinary team working alongside orthopaedic doctors and a specialist nurse.
About you

At least 3 years experience in musculoskeletal practice is required.
Hold a current Annual Practising certificate issued by the Physiotherapy Board.
A background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Great time management.
Good communication skills, spoken and written.
