The Role: Where you fit in
We are looking for a full-time permanent position as an Otolaryngologist to join the Christchurch team in Canterbury. We are considering both full-time and part-time applications and fixed-term positions, so please provide dates you would be available.
The Otolaryngology Department at Christchurch Hospital provides a complete range of secondary and tertiary services to Canterbury and other areas in South Island, with a secondary referral population base of 550,000 and tertiary referral population base of 1 million.
Services are provided on an inpatient, day patient and outpatient basis and are integrated with the Audiology Department.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Qualifications required:

Specialist registration in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery
Current Annual Medical Practising Certificate.
Post Graduate training in Head & Neck surgery would be desirable.

Professional memberships required:

Medical indemnity insurance

Experience required:

Expertise in the field of general Otolaryngology.
Post Fellowship training/experience for a tertiary teaching centre, including an appropriate subspecialty interest. Currently, an interest in Paediatric, Head and Neck, and Rhinology surgery is desirable.
An ability to undertake and organise undergraduate Otolaryngology teaching would also be desirable.

Other skills required:

Be able to work under pressure and prioritise clinical workload.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A team approach to work in an environment that includes many disciplines; and a collaborative working relationship with management.

This position provides additional support in outpatient clinics, surgical operating lists, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
