Orchard Supervisor - Edgecumbe

Prospa is EastPack's Orchard Management Division which offers a full range of services that aim to optimise productivity and maximise returns for our growers.We are currently one of the largest orchard management companies in the industry, offering our management services across eight key areas: Gisborne, Opotiki, Edgecumbe, Te Puke, Tauranga, Katikati, Coromandel and Waikato.We strive to deliver top quality orchard management in every region, by providing our team with highly relevant technical and operational support and effective leadership.We now have an exciting opportunity for an Orchard Supervisor to join our Prospa team, overseeing our orchards in Edgecumbe under the guidance of our existing Orchard Manager.Reporting to the Orchard Manager, this role will assist in all managerial operations as required and will carry out and oversee various orchard tasks ranging from pruning, orchard maintenance, fruit thinning, and machinery and tool operations. A key focus of this role will be to effectively plan tasks with your orchard manager, carry out orchard maintenance where required, and motivate and supervise orchard teams in the field to achieve quality results.To be successful in this role, you will need:A keen interest in kiwifruit and learning all on orchard tasksA good understanding of mechanical, tool and machinery operationsExcellent time management and organisational skillsA good level of physical fitness and able to work outdoorsStrong initiative to work unsupervised at timesFlexibility to work sometimes long hours including weekendsApplications close on Monday 30 September and will need to include a brief cover letter and CV.
