Orchard Manager

Full time Apatu Farms is a leading Hawke's Bay family-owned Agribusiness focused on growing quality produce for prominent local and global customers. Operations span across Vegetable, Pipfruit, Viticulture, Dairy, Export and Transport activities. We have an opportunity for a Manager to join the post development phase of an innovative orchard with high precision systems and a dedicated team. Our Pipfruit team currently manages premium apple varieties (including RockitTM and ENVYTM). About the role: This role will form part of a Pipfruit Management Team of future-thinking orchardists (who are passionate about growing first-class produce), who have top-of-the-line equipment, and embrace the opportunity of managing innovative growing systems. You will have the ability to be hands-on in peak periods ensuring all facets of orchard production are carried out to a high standard. In addition, you will be a star people leader who knows how to role model, manage, and motivate. The other key elements include: Sound experience in managing teams including seasonal workers Great team and work environment Modern growing techniques and top-of-the-line gear (including HSS 3 Rower Sprayers, Fendt Cab Tractors and N.Blosi platforms) About you: At least 5 years' experience in year-round apple orchard operations including people leadership and supervision Willingness to get stuck in, lead and work with a team to achieve high-quality results.
