The passionate and committed owner, Tim McBride, is now seeking an Operations Manager to join the team. This critical role will ensure the continued growth and operational success of the company.
The job:
Reporting to the Owner, this key role will ensure the smooth day-to-day running and operations of the business. Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and reliable transport services.
Leading and managing the team of drivers, providing support, training, and performance feedback.
Optimizing route planning and scheduling to maximize productivity and cost-efficiency.
Fostering strong relationships with clients, including NZ Post and other key partners.
Maintaining and enhancing the company's fleet, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Essentially working from home, the role could be based in either Timaru, Christchurch or anywhere in Central Otago. There will be a requirement to travel to different locations in the mid-lower South Island every 4-6 weeks.
The ideal candidate:
You will have proven experience in transport and logistics management with strong leadership, relationship management and communication skills. Knowledge of fleet management, including modern transport technology is essential.
You will be able to work independently with a hands-on approach to operational challenges and have excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement.
To assist the crew during peak times a class 5 license would be advantageous, alongside flexibility to work outside normal working hours when required.
