About Opuha: Opuha Water Limited is based in Pleasant Point, South Canterbury where their primary role is to provide irrigation water to 16,000 hectares of farmland in the region. The key to the success of the Opuha Water irrigation scheme is Lake Opuha, a man-made reservoir lake situated behind the Opuha Dam.
About the Role: As Operations Manager, you will play a vital hands-on role in the delivery of an efficient, reliable, and fit-for-purpose source of irrigation water for shareholders. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our systems perform optimally and sustainably, supporting our mission to provide reliable water services to water users and for the environment.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and inspire a small team to achieve operational and strategic goals.Plan and manage the maintenance and operation of infrastructure and assets to limit downtime and interruptions to 24/7 services.Ensure water storage is optimised and used appropriately to maintain reliable and timely water delivery.Develop and manage budgets, ensuring prudent financial oversight and resource allocation.Champion health and safety, fostering a culture where safety is paramount.Regularly engage in fieldwork, including hands-on maintenance and inspections to ensure infrastructure performance.Liaising with shareholders, water users, stakeholders, environmental groups, and members of the community.Ensure operational compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.Contribute to dam safety monitoring and surveillance.Implementation of an emergency management plan.About You:We're looking for a leader with a strong technical background and a passion for excellence.
