Operations Manager - Events and Guarding P4G Security (Platform 4 Group Ltd) is a prominent security services provider, operating across Aotearoa. We offer a variety of security solutions, including trained certified security personnel, mobile patrol services, alarm response, event security management, asset protection, and retail loss prevention. P4G Security provides tailored security services for commercial properties, retail and malls, events venues, film and television, and bespoke requirements. The Operations Manager – Events and Guarding will report through to the South Island Manager and hold a key position in overseeing the Events and Guard Services business unit in the Christchurch area. This role will provide outstanding service to our clients and work in partnership to ensure the highest level of delivery and customer service. This role will be based out of our Sockburn, Christchurch office.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with development and implementation of comprehensive security plans for events, including risk assessments, emergency response strategies, and crowd control measures.
Oversight of event and guarding operations, delivery, and team management.
Ensure compliance with local laws, safety regulations, and specific security protocols.
Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key customers at an operational level.
Stakeholder engagement, attending all event-related meetings serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and ensuring active participation and representation with key stakeholders.
Assisting in the preparation of budget, business plans, and monthly forecasts.
Identify recruitment and training requirements, supporting the process alongside HR, and ensuring compliance.
Demonstrated experience within Operational Management.
Holds, or has the ability to get, a Certificate of Approval (COA).
Demonstrated experience in security management.
Strong leadership and team management skills with operational staff.
Familiarity with crowd management strategies, emergency response protocols, and local safety regulations preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, staff, and inter-agency partners.
Current full NZ Drivers License.
Excellent computer literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and event software).
