Official Information Act Adviser Role type: Permanent full-time Location: Wellington CBD Salary band & range: General Salary Range F $74,964 to $87,466 depending on skills and experience Korero mo te Turanga - About the Role We are looking for an Adviser to join our Official Information Act (OIA) team who are responsible for the management of the Ministry's OIA, Privacy Act, and Ombudsman correspondence. In this role, you will be preparing information and responses to requests for information for publication on MPI's website, within the requirements of organisational policy with consideration to relevant legislation. This includes coordinating contributions from across the organisation to ensure that responses are on-time, consistent and of high quality. Mou - About You You will be an energetic self-starter with a reputation for working effectively across an organisation to get things done. Your good understanding of the machinery of Government, good written communication skills and sound judgement will ensure you can confidently provide advice to key decision-makers within the Ministry. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience responding to OIA requests and advising on the application of the OIA Superior communication and writing skills Ability to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes Experience effectively multitasking and problem solving Government or administration experience You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. We are a team of 12 Advisers, including Seniors and Principals, all located in Wellington and working across a broad range of topics. Nga Taki Whakahaumaru - Security checks Low level Security Clearance Most preferably a New Zealand citizen, who has resided continuously in New Zealand for at least the last five (5) years, OR Is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five (5) years: either Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (UK), or the United States of America (USA); And has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
