This is a central role for our team, with involvement with most aspects of the trust's social services and is the first point of contact for clients. Te Whare Awhero (Hope House) is a registered charitable trust that grew from Hope Church and has provided community and social services in Hornby and the Greater Southwest of Christchurch for over 35 years. Our mission is to build hope in our community by offering affordable counselling, community development, and child and family support services. Our services include:Affordable Counselling: Whatever challenges you are facing, we all need support. When you are ready to take that courageous step, our counsellors are here to provide the necessary support for positive change in your life.Horizons OSCAR: We offer quality, affordable childcare and school holiday programs for children aged 5-13 at four sites across Southwest Christchurch. Creating a safe and supportive space for kids before and after school!Mana Ake: We are one of 12 NGOs partnering with the Te Whatu Ora and the Ministry of Education to provide mental health support services to Canterbury primary and intermediate schools.Community Support: Te Whare Awhero offers practical, short-term assistance to anyone in need within our community and a new long-term whanau support programme. We provide timely help with various social supports at no cost.Qualifications and Skills:Experience: Previous experience in administration or office management is desirable and HR and IT experience is a bonus.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively with diverse teams.Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel), Google Workspace, Xero, & Cliniko Counselling software) with the ability to problem-solve basic tech issues.Role Requirements:Be the 'face' of the trust for clients and visitors of our offices ensuring they are warmly welcomed in person or on the phone and that they efficiently connected to the people they want to see or talk to. Ensure day to day administrative tasks are efficiently and properly done such as:Preparing documents and reportsReceiving and administering client bookings for counsellors as neededOrdering of office equipment and stationeryClerical record keeping, filing and storage. Assist the Director in the recruitment, hiring and induction of staff as appropriate. Assist the Director in ensuring that trust facilities, property, and equipment are Effective and attractiveSafe for everyone Compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements Assist the Director to ensure that the trusts policy base:Meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.Is clear and helpful for day-to-day use.Is complied with by all staff Assist the Director regarding health and safety to ensure that all staff, children, families, and others involved with the trust's services and activities are kept safe.Oversee communications with external stakeholders across the community. Other duties as delegated by the Director from time to time.Ability to relate to and work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and to help them feel welcome.Good verbal and written communication skillsAdministrative competence across a wide range of duties.How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience and suitability for the role.
