Occupational Therapist | Burwood Campus

Details of the offer

Permanent full and part time opportunities available in both our Pain Management and Vocational Rehab teams; please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
Join a supportive team who are passionate about helping individuals manage chronic pain or assisting patients return to work following a significant event/illness.

Mo te tunga | About the Role
We have multiple opportunities for experienced Occupational Therapists to join us at Burwood Hospital as part of our wider Older Person's Health and Rehabilitation Service. The roles available are both permanent part-time and full-time across our Vocational Rehabilitation and Pain Management teams. Please indicate on your cover letter the hours and areas of interest for you.
Vocational Rehabilitation works together with the client, their employer, GP, other treatment providers, and whanau to make their recovery and return to work a safe and sustainable process. Vocational Rehabilitation meets the client and their employer at Burwood and onsite at their workplace and prepares a structured rehabilitation plan with the aim of achieving a clear return to work date. They provide a work-specific functional programme and monitor the client's rehabilitation journey to achieve the best outcomes for our clients and their employers.
Pain Management provides an interdisciplinary approach tailored to meet the complex needs of individuals with chronic pain. The service aims to restore functional ability and enable individuals to live as independently as possible despite their pain. Pain Management involves learning different ways of thinking and acting so that pain interferes less with life.
A self-management approach requires individuals to play an active role in their pain management and emphasizes an improvement in quality of life and function, rather than a cure.
Ko wai koe | About You
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice for Occupational Therapy.
Educating and providing resources to clients and their employers around the return to work and recovery process within Vocational Rehabilitation.
