The roles available are both permanent part-time and full-time across our Vocational Rehabilitation and Pain Management teams. The team meets the client and their employer at Burwood and onsite at their workplace to prepare a structured rehabilitation plan aimed at a clear return to work date. They provide a work-specific functional program and monitor the client's rehabilitation journey to achieve the best outcomes for our clients and their employers.The Pain Management team provides an interdisciplinary approach tailored to meet the complex needs of individuals with chronic pain. The service aims to restore functional ability and enable individuals to live as independently as possible despite their pain. Pain Management involves learning different ways of thinking and acting so that pain interferes less with life.A self-management approach requires individuals to play an active role in their pain management and emphasizes an improvement in quality of life and function, rather than a cure.Ko wai koe | About YouIn this role, you will be responsible for:Providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice for Occupational Therapy.Educating and providing resources to clients and their employers around the return to work and recovery process within Vocational Rehabilitation.Using Occupational Therapy modalities to support learning and improvement in the individual's management of their chronic pain.Ensuring appropriate documentation and patient records are updated and maintained.Contributing to quality service provision within the Vocational Rehabilitation or Pain Management service, the Occupational Therapy service, and the wider Burwood site.Completing thorough assessments and flexibly integrating interventions using problem-solving and robust communication, while being led by your client's goals.Having experience in working with patients with significant neurological events is an advantage.Having experience in working with mental health conditions is also an advantage.You must be registered with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board with a current annual practicing certificate."Ko nga tangata, te matua mahi" - Putting people at the heart of all we do"Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional, and national levels.
