Contract: Permanent, Full time, rotating and rostered shifts
Salary: $77,087 - $107,600 PSA MECA based on experience
This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Team at the Regional Rangatahi inpatient Service (RRAIS).
Day to day running of Therapeutic Day Programme alongside the wider team.Attendance and participation within MDT and wider team. Articulating, negotiating and demonstrating the role and functions of an occupational therapist in the team.Providing appropriate, effective occupational therapy services for clients which facilitate and enable increased functioning incorporating the four domains of Te Whare Tapa Wha.Developing tools and establishing groups for client skill development.Utilising a broad range of knowledge and experience for the benefit of clients.The Rangatahi Unit is a 12 bed regional inpatient acute service for adolescents aged between 12 to 17 years of age who have a serious mental health disorder (as defined in the DSM IV). The young person will be requiring intensive treatment, investigation or observation (24 hours per day) that cannot safely or adequately be provided in a community setting. The Rangatahi Unit provides a Therapeutic Day Programme for Inpatients designed to meet the needs of the Rangatahi experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.
The team has a bicultural focus and is supported by a Kaumatua and a Kuia; the team uses a Maori health model to guide their practice with emphasis on whanaungatanga and tikanga.
