Our client is a market-leading manufacturer that supplies top quality products and systems for the building and construction industry. With a strong history of innovative design and manufacturing, a talented in-house engineering team, and in-depth market knowledge, they can provide solutions to suit any application.
The operation in New Zealand is primed for growth and therefore we seek an experienced and ambitious Country Manager to take the overall responsibility of the sales and distribution function of the New Zealand business entity.
The new manager will mentor and empower a small sales team, executing sales strategies to drive company growth, as well as ensuring a high level of service to their clients. They will also be responsible for the ongoing development of new markets, including developing their architectural and specification markets, further developing their trade customer base on a national basis, as well as focusing on securing large commercial project work.
As well as focusing on sales growth, the efficiency of the Auckland based warehouse and the customer service function will also fall under their leadership.
This is a hands-on role, and we are seeking a high energy, focused leader, who will want to get amongst the action, take charge and impact results.
Role Responsibilities Provide leadership to a small South Auckland based team, ensuring overall productivity and achievement.Develop and implement a strategic sales strategy across both new and existing business.Guide and support the sales team with sales activities to achieve individual and team targets.Identify and develop opportunities for growth across the architectural and specification markets.Strengthen existing trade customer relationships and grow these, outside of Auckland.Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders in the trades and construction sectors.Expand customers' product portfolios, introducing new ranges, to increase spend and share of wallet.Ensure team maintains expected levels of activity and KPI accountability and uses CRM to track these.Monitor critical business metrics and prepare management reporting.Lead a small customer service and operations team, focusing on warehouse efficiency, inventory control, logistics, and workplace safety.Implement best practices, fostering a culture of continuous operational improvement and teamwork.Prepare budgets, plans and management reporting.National and international travel is required; branch based in South Auckland.About You: Hands-on leadership style. Strong motivator and mentor, with a natural ability to lead.Experience in managing salespeople across all facets of the sales process.Creates a positive culture of hard work, accountability, success, and reward.Confident in all aspects of business development and identifying opportunities to grow the business.Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with own strategic market development activities.Capable of analyzing sales metrics and tracking revenue.Strong business planning and reporting capability.Minimum 5+ years in sales leadership, with a good understanding of distribution operations and DIFOT.Background in selling to building/construction markets, with a history of business growth.Strong technical ability – basic understanding of electronics and/or mechanics.Experience promoting a technical product, such as automation, access control or other construction/engineering solutions.The Rewards: Remuneration, base + bonus to achieve $160K-$180K, company vehicle.Backing of a great Australian leadership team.Opportunity to make a significant impact and drive growth.We are looking for a dynamic individual with an enthusiastic approach… someone who has a hunger to take ownership and drive a team to exceed.
