About the Role: As a Nurse Practitioner in our Cardiology team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a range of cardiovascular conditions. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership, offering you the opportunity to:
Perform advanced assessments, diagnosis, and management of cardiac patients, including complex cases.Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to create and implement individualized treatment plans.Provide patient and whanau education, ensuring they are well-informed and empowered in managing their health.Lead initiatives to improve care pathways and patient outcomes within the cardiology service.Mentor and support nursing and clinical staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.Participate in research, quality improvement projects, and service development to advance cardiology care.This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cardiovascular medicine while contributing to the professional growth of the team and the wider community.

About you: Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.Clinical expertise in cardiology or a related specialty.A collaborative and patient-centered approach.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand: Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
